Bananas are a popular fruit that is bursting with health benefits. They boost the digestive system and promote heart health, thanks to the high fiber and antioxidant content.
Bananas are also popular with weight watchers, for their relatively low-calorie and nutrient-rich content that may aid with weight loss. Bananas are also the preferred food for athletes, largely due to their easily digested carbs and high mineral content.
Eating bananas also helps to reduce post-exercise muscle cramps and soreness, which is another bonus for athletes and sports enthusiasts.
All this makes bananas one of the most convenient snack foods.
Bananas make an excellent snack food. They are a great addition to yogurt, cereals and even smoothies. Their versatility makes them easy to add into baking and cooking recipes.
Lepat Pisang Recipe
Today, I’m going to share how to make this extremely simple Lepat Pisang (steamed banana packets), the traditional way with coconut filling.
There are many versions to this kuih, some people make it without the coconut filling, others prefer to add coconut milk, while there are some who actually add rice flour into the batter. As for me, I keep it simple just like the good old days.
This delight is a healthy snack as it is steamed, not deep-fried. Wrapping it in banana leaves enhances the already aromatic banana kuih.
